There has
been a whirlwind of activity at Croydon Communicators over the last couple of
months but we are back with regular blog posts to let you know what’s been
happening and to inform you of upcoming events.
If you haven’t been to a meeting for a while, you are missing out, so make sure you come along to our next
meeting!
Croydon Communicators celebrates 8
years of success!
At the end of
September, Croydon Communicators were delighted to celebrate 8 years of existence and we marked the occasion
by holding a special meeting to which we invited all of our founding members and
past Presidents who all helped to make Croydon Communicators the successful,
thriving club that it is today. We had a
night packed to the brim with inspiring speeches by our past Presidents and
founding members and a hilarious Table Topics session about Fifi, the pampered dog
who was seeking a life of adventure.

Humorous Speech & Table Topics Contest
Finals/ Boadicea Conference
The Humorous
Speech and Table Topics Contest Semi-Finals and Finals were held at the
Boadicea Conference at the Crowne Plaza, Colchester over the weekend of 8 & 10 November. A few of us from Croydon Communicators went
along and were greatly inspired by all the speeches and table topics that were
delivered to an extremely high standard.
We also got to attend some amazing workshops that were being held over the
course of the weekend and we left with lots of useful advice and tips we can
apply ourselves and share with others.
We highly recommend you try to attend the Toastmasters conferences,
usually held twice each year, there is so much you can learn at these
conferences and you get to meet other Toastmasters too which is fantastic. Congratulations to the winners and well done to all who participated in the contest! |

Croydon Communicators’ Christmas
Dinner – Thurs 12th December – have you RSVP’d?
Last week our
Club President sent out an invitation by email to our annual end of year
celebration dinner. Have you RSVP’d
yet? A google form was sent out for you
to respond as to whether or not you will be attending and to select your menu
options – please complete this as soon as possible so we can finalise catering
arrangements. Also, remember that
payment is due by 28th November, our next club meeting. Our Vice President for Education, Aarthi, is
working very hard to make sure we all have a great evening, so make sure you’re
all there to celebrate a great year at Croydon Communicators!
