A very good piece of advice I received shortly after I joined Toastmasters was this – Go & visit other Toastmaster clubs
Tip No 13 is a variation of this idea – twinning at club level
Suggest that committees, VPEs in particular, co-operate with their fellow officers in other nearby club or clubs, making it easy to swap General Evaluators, speakers and so on
Members benefit by speaking in new locations to new audiences. The exchange of ideas will strengthen the clubs too
And if you have speaking slots available, or need a time keeper, who better to help you fill these vacancies than your twin club?
Thanks to Canary Wharf Communicators & Meridian Speakers for this idea
I can testify to its effectiveness when Purley Speakers & Croydon Communicators worked together near the end of the last Toastmasters year
